Hi guys!
A few months ago, we came up with an idea of doing a generation blanket - meaning three (in our case) generations have knitted this blanket, contributing to a beautiful family heirloom.
This blanket measures 100cm x 100cm so each of us knitted up 33 squares (measuring 10cm x 10cm) and Grannie knitted the extra one.
We decided not not to use too many dark colours and stick to a more pastel palette.
Each of us used different techniques to knit the squares - wrap drop stitch, fireside lace stitch, garter stitch and stocking stitch.
If anybody is interested in a 'how to' guide for any of the techniques seen in any of the squares here then please do let us know!
Once we'd all finished our squares, we positioned each of them to design the final piece.
Grannie then knitted them all together and the overall result can be seen in the many pictures shown here.
The green flowers that can be seen on a couple of the squares in this blanket were sewn by Grannie, who wanted to hide our rookie mistakes ;)
We're currently working out whether we want to make another one, but this time have more of a strict colour theme - possibly darker colours?
Keep crafting x

This project was super fun and great for bringing us girls together.
