Hi guys!
A few weeks ago now I made and sent my first letter and loaded pocket to Rauhah, a lovely lady in South Africa.
So, for the envelope, I started off with this Kraft, plain envelope.
I also used this old music sheet book. I purchased it at a charity shop in Ely and, as you will see later, I've used this as a kind of background on the front of my envelope.
I also roughly cut out this flying owl from a nature encyclopedia. I also found this book at a charity shop and you can see it in my haul post if you click here!
I then used my craft knife and my cutting mat to cut the owl out neatly. I decided to leave a small white edge around the whole bird, instead of cutting right next to the brown feathers.
This is the envelope all finished! All the extra stickers you see are from various Stickii Club retro packs, but I really wanted the owl to be the centre of the piece.
Now to what I made to put inside the envelope! I used this autumnal leaf print paper from a paper pad called Changing Seasons which I believe I purchased from Pound Land.
Firstly, I folded it into a little pouch so I could see if it would actually work before I stuck it down. And it did - so yay!
I then opened it up and stuck double-sided sticky tape onto the edges I wanted to be closed. I made sure all tape was hidden and none was spilling out of the sides so it wouldn't stick to the envelope.
I decided to stuff the back section of the pocket with goodies. I cut out this autumn leaf colour spectrum picture from the same nature encyclopedia as the owl.
To add in with the autumn theme I had going on, I cut out these leaves to put in there too.
I knew I wanted to add a pop of colour so (from the same book again) I found this gorgeous little bird which I cut out for Rauhah as well.
This is a cut-out of 6 stickers from a Stickii Club retro pack called Natural History.
Same as before, I found this cute little mushroom to stuff in the pocket.
I had these two tags left over from a previous project, so I decided to give these to her as well.
This is what it looked like once I was finished! Of course, I wrote this lovely lady a letter too and put it in the front of the pocket, as well as some tea-stained map pieces and some bits of the music sheet too.
Thank you for reading!
