Hi guys!
I love creating letters for my beautiful penpals so I wanted to share this one with you - it arrived in France already, so I know I can publish this post and it won't ruin the surprise for her!
I included this hot air balloon 'postcard' in with the other bits because it matched the overall theme of the letter. I wrote questions for Pauline to answer on the back of it.
This is the paper pad that all but one of my papers came from for this letter.
The sky blue one came from this pad.
So, to start with, I folded the square papers in half, to make long rectangles, and then taped them down.
I then used washi tape to tape them all together and to give them 'spines' so they would open like a leaflet/book.
I cut out a cloud shape and attempted to write 'hello' in a calligraphy style and it didn't really go as well as I hoped but never mind! I stuck this to the front of the book, along with two butterflies that I'd previously cut out of a gift bag my Gran gave me.
From another paper pad, I cut out these beautiful flowers and stuck them to the inside middle page.
I also decided to add a washi tape strip to the stems to make it seem more like a true bouquet. As you can tell, I then continued to cut out flowers from that same page and stick them to the other two sections of the book.
So, to tie in the inside with the outside, I cut out another cloud shape and wrote 'Be happy' on it.
I took two more of the butterflies and stuck them to the inside as well.
I then wrote a little notecard that I cut out from the same paper, and included it on the inside left page.
...I then went over it in pen.
So, there we have it! It was so fun to make!
Of course, I included a letter in there as well!

I wanted to include another notecard, so I doodled some flowers in pencil first (I was bound to make mistakes)...
