Hi guys!
If you follow us on Instagram, you'll know that we've been working on a Batman cross stitch design, and today we finished it!
Continue reading to see the process.
If you've read our other posts, then you know our love for time-lapse videos, so of course, we had to include one!
We started off by drawing the outline of the Batman figure on some squared paper.
We then used different colours according to the colour of thread we wanted for that area.
Here is the finished pattern! Each square is one cross in this case. If you would like receive a printable version, just let us know and we'll send you it!
After we finished the pattern, we found the middle of it by folding the paper in half then half again; and we found the middle of the Aida (we used 14-count) using the same process. In order to mark it, we made our first stitch here.
We stitched the top and started on the Batman logo.
Once the logo and the top were finished, we stitched the mouth.
We got quite into it then, and didn't photograph it until we'd done all this!
Stitching the outline of the head was very rewarding, as we saw the piece totally coming together at this point.
Filling in the cape with the dark blue was easy, as we no longer had to count the squares, just stitch!
We left the eyes until last...
...we then stitched the eyes - meaning our Batman was finished!
However, because we made this for a friend's 18th birthday gift, we decided to backstitch a short "Happy Birthday" message on to the bottom.
Keep crafting x
