Baby Blankets

Hi guys!

We thought we'd make another blanket to show you - this one specifically for babies. We're going to donate them to our local hospital for their baby ward! We will only show you one blanket here, but we've made more in different colours.

For this blanket we used soft, baby wool and 4-mm knitting needles. If you want the exact ones we used, then check out the "where to buy" section below.

We decided to knit the entire thing in garter stitch.

If you think some knitting tutorials would be good, then don't hesitate to comment and ask for them!

We knitted 12 squares each (so there were 24 in total, 12 of each colour).

For this blanket, we used a lovely grey and a baby blue colour.

We then used mattress stitch to sew the squares into rows of 4.

After we had 6 rows of 4, we sewed each row together (mattress stitch again). Make sure that you alternate the colours to get the checkerboard effect!

Once all the rows had been sewn together, we used blanket stitch around the edge in the blue wool and tidied up the ends - et voila! Our completed blanket is ready to be donated now!

Keep crafting x
