Giraffe Cross Stitch - Hobbycraft Kit

Hi guys!

We've been loving cross stitch lately, can you tell?

This is another kit from Hobbycraft, but this time it's a cute giraffe!

As you can see, this is the same kit type as the cupcake and pony one we did stitched (if you have no idea what I'm talking about, click here for the cupcake one and here for the pony kit).

Like the others, this comes with all you need to create this precious piece.

To find the centre of the Aida, just fold it in half, then in half again, and stitch with the correct colour (the one marked with an X on the pattern is the centre stitch).

As this one had some blocks of the same colour, I worked in this way instead of line by line (like the cupcake one). Doing it like this saves a lot of time, as you don't have to keep changing the thread.

I couldn't get over the fact it looked like a horse for a long time!

But then I got to the ears, and the horse facade disappeared.

The branch is back-stitched using two threads (usually all back stitching uses 1 thread when outlining).

The cream lines on the face are also stitched with two threads, but the mane and black outlining use just the one.

Here is the finished piece without the frame...

The frame adds that final flourish - and it can also be used as a gift or decoration!
